Описание

This video contrasts possessive adjectives with possessive pronouns. Viewers can learn the differences between the possessives and how they are placed in sentences.

Possessive adjectives:
my, your (1), his, her, your (2), our, their

Possessive pronouns:
mine, yours (1), his, hers, yours (2), ours, theirs

Your / yours appears twice, one for singular use and one for plural use.

Possessive adjectives show that something belongs to someone as well as modifying the noun or object;
That is a (book). / That is (my book).
Possessive adjectives are placed in front of the noun or object in sentences;
This is (her) book.

Possessive pronouns show that something belongs to someone;
That is a bag. / That (bag) is (yours).
Possessive pronouns are not followed by the object;
That (bag) is yours.

In the example sentences in the video, the possessive adjectives and pronouns follow the verb be;
This (is our) classroom.
That classroom(is ours).
