PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate Edition is a PC game developed by Q-Games and is available through Steam. It falls into the Tower Defence genre. The game features beautiful hand drawn artwork with offline single player and Co-op modes as well as online high score tables.

You play as the Chief of a village, your main objective is to protect the villagers (Usually 20) from waves of attacking monsters. You do this by building and upgrading a variety of towers on any accessible trees. Each tower can be upgraded 4 times, this can be done slowly by standing on it or instantly using gems dropped by defeated monsters. Every tower will have a different level of effectiveness depending on the type of monster that is attacking. For each monster that reaches your village you will loose one villager. If all your villagers die then it's game over for that particular level. However, If no villagers die you are rewarded with a rainbow.

Every level has three sets of coins and a single gem hidden somewhere in the trees. All you have to do to find them is search the forest by walking over trees.
