Daemonica (2005) | 4K60 | Longplay All Quests Full Game Walkthrough No Commentary All Endings
Описание
Full English-only game longplay of Daemonica, an action-adventure game, developed by Czech companies RA Images and Cinemax, released first in Czechia in May 2005, then in the world in March 2006. Game consists of a full 3D isometric perspective, with a simple combat. Played in 2880x1620 due to dgVoodoo, max I could, in stretched 4:3 resolution to fill the screen, with FXAA/MSAA on (one of those didn't work). Recorded in full 4K60.
A poor man's Czech Witcher, I remember it being sold for the price of something like today's 12 USD on launch here in Poland, released first two years before the actual Witcher game hit the market. Eerily similar, as in there might have been some elements that influenced the Witcher in some miniature ways perhaps? Isometric perspective, brewing potions, combat by clicking left mouse only basically, game based on acts/chapters. Well, all that's saying is, if you liked the first Witcher game released in 2007, you might find Daemonica, while managing your expectations ofc as it's a budget almost-indie game, a quite worthy game, with gloomy atmosphere, locations, mysteries. And of course, the main theme of the game: gathering specific herbs, brewing a potion, getting some specific dead body down to your creepy, windy cellar, drinking the potion to basically almost die, to be able to talk to the spirit of that specific dead someone. Which is a very neat concept, pretty simple in practice, but very intriguing for my tastes.
Summary of the plot (no spoilers):
Daemonica tells a story of Haresh al-Dorem, the beast hunter, who is known as Nicholas Farepoynt. In the prologue, the player finds out that Nicholas was born as Nicholas Mortimer a son of Roger Mortimer and queen Isabella. who were responsible for the death of King Edward II of England. When Mortimer was executed, Nicholas was sent to a church in France and was renamed Farepoynt. He later became a mercenary and joined the English army in the Hundred Years' War. When he returned to England he met Clarice, a beast hunter. Beast hunters hunt serial killers and other "human beasts". They have knowledge of an ancient language of Daemonica. It allows them to call a demon Dahn-en-nyan the soul bearer who can help them to talk with the dead if they know certain facts about the dead. Hunters can also call a demon Marghet-en-dryat who can bring the dead back but there is no known case of a hunter surviving the ritual. Clarice taught Nicholas until they worked on a case in York. Clarice made a mistake that cost her life. Nicholas then received a letter from a Mayor of the small town of Cavorn where a couple had disappeared.
Note: the three different endings (well, there are others but they only concern the fate of all those side characters, which I've saved all possible, as a sort of sub-quest fullfilment) have been shown here, but the bad one cuts short after the first monologue line, it never plays fully, but two other ones are fine.
