Hey whats up Im Jeremy and we've got a Battle of the Titans! Today we are letting the Elixir Phosphor Bronze and Martin Phosphor Bronze SP guitar strings duke it out to see which strings sound better. Ill play through 5 more examples using both sets of strings back to back to help you compare each set against each other.

As aways, I like to treat this as an experiment so I limit all other variables except for the strings themselves. Same guitar, same mics, same mic placement, and no EQ or compression on anything.

So, Ive got some opinions on this one and I will preface this by saying that Elixirs are normally my goto strings so maybe this is just what I’m used to. But, I dont know if you could tell in the video but the low E string on these martin strings was absolutely dead on arrival when I installed them. The rest of the strings sounded like newish strings when I installed them but for some reason the low E string sounded like it had been found on an old acoustic guitar you’d find in your great grandfather’s attic. It sounded so distinctly different from the rest of the strings and by different I mean bad. Did I get a bad batch? Maybe? However, when I make these videos I batch record maybe 6 sets of strings with two days and this set stood out at having a glaring problem. And, they were on the upper end of the spectrum for acoustic guitar string pricing.
