Train Cab Ride NL / 20km without Motor Power / Amsterdam - Woerden - Amsterdam / VIRM IC / May 2021

Hi everyone and welcome on board a brand new 4K Train Cab Ride through the Dutch country. This time its time for another diverted intercity ride! Amsterdam - Woerden due to construction works on the line between Breukelen and Utrecht. Therefor all the intercity's that normally run to Maastricht are now diverted to Woerden and will end there. Passengers need to change trains in Woerden for Utrecht and further.
0:00 Amsterdam Centraal
We depart 2 minutes late from Amsterdam Central Station. This because the train manager was helping out a passenger on the platform. Luckily we have lots of driving time between Central Station and Amstel with diverted intercity with changed train schedule.

On arrival in Amstel we are perfectly on time again.

11:40 Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena
At Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena we make an extra stop-over. This so passengers from there also have the best connection via Woerden to Utrecht (and further). As we depart from Bijlmer Arena we speed up to maximum speed and then let the train roll out until Breukelen. This because we need to lower our speed at Breukelen to 80km/h due to the junctions.

At Breukelen we normally go straight on to Utrecht on full speed. But now we need to slow down and a junction to the left. For the sharp people under us: we also travel on the middle track towards Breukelen zo we don't have to cross through 80km/h junctions twice.
And now you see a piece of track you don't see very often on my channel (Breukelen - Harmelen Connexxion). This is because normally only the sprinter Amsterdam - Rotterdam travels here and I almost never find time to place my camera to the window on that drive. But here it is, and seen from an intercity as well!

On arrival in Woerden the train must be emptied. After this the train manager shuts the doors of the train and we continue to the shunting track at Woerden Molenvliet.

At that shunting tracks we change the trains direction and then go back to Amsterdam as an empty train. Now we are running back empty because as of this hour there will be less intercity's running between Woerden and Amsterdam. Every half an hour now instead of every 10-20 minutes.
We depart from Molenvliet and have a short stop-over at Woerden again.

This time there will be no passengers boarding the train because our train needs to be shunted away in Amsterdam.In my personal opinion this train could also had loaded passengers, but I don't create the train schedule. :) After departure we take the same route back to Amsterdam.

After Breukelen we speed up the train to 140km/h and then let the weight of the train do the rest. There are not trains behind us and we're a bit early. Time for an experiment! Let's see if we can make it all the way to Amsterdam without giving any traction! What do you think? Will we make it on time? Check it out!

Just after Abcoude we make a call with the train dispatcher asking if we can skip out planned stop at Bijlmer Arena if there are no other trains crossing our path.
