Bluetooth MIDI to Logic Pro from iPad to Mac (Tutorial)

WARNING: We observed some latency when connecting like this via bluetooth. In the next video, we show how to connect using the iPad charging cable instead. That is more reliable and has much faster latency.

We show how to setup a bluetooth MIDI connection between iPad and Mac. (iPhone would also work the same way.) This allows us to use iOS MIDI controller apps like Velocity Keyboard to control synthesizers and virtual instruments in Logic Pro on Mac OS. In this video we used audiobus to make the bluetooth connection from the iPad to the Mac, but any app that has a bluetooth MIDI connnection management menu would work fine. (Velocity Keyboard will also add that feature.) Once a bluetooth connection is established, it persists across all iOS apps so that you can use it with any MIDI controller, even if it isn't connected to audiobus.
