Slow worms (Anguis fragilis) feeding

Juvenile slow worms in my vivarium feeding on earth worm chunks. The animals are captive bred and registered so I can legally keep them as pets even though the species is protected in my country.

Slow worms are relatively easy to keep compared to many other reptiles, but you should still have at least basic herpetology knowledge. And please don't take them from the wild even if it's legal where you live.

If you have slow worms in your garden count yourself lucky: they keep your plants free of slugs!
