Ferrari 812 GTS vs 812 Superfast (Exhaust Notes Comparison)

So the new Euro 6 regulations have forced many car manufacturers to install Gas Particulate Filters (GPF) into the exhaust systems and Ferrari has complied in 2020. The GTS is a remarkable car that should take the Superfast experience and dial it up to 11, but with the lower sounding exhaust notes, I can’t help but feel like they emasculated the GTS. From start up, to revs it is clear that our V12 F1 like sharp screams are gone and replaced with a more baritone growl type roar. At least the roof down option or back windows down option of the GTS will give one consolation, louder decibels of sound for the driver and passenger. This may offset the GPF disadvantage and still give me plenty of reason to want to own a GTS. In any event, I heard that if we wanted to get an 812 Superfast today, it would also be fitted with the GPF. So it’s safe to say goodbye to the screaming banshee that we love. It’s still loud and lovely but just not on that high note pitch like before. If you have a sharp ear, the differences are very obvious. Enjoy the video and subscribe.

Note: I intentionally repeat the clips back and forth so that you can keep experiencing the differences between the exhaust notes in one go without needing to replay parts of the video. It was satisfying for me this way to satisfy my dissatisfaction with the GPF effects on the GTS. I had to make sure I didn’t hear it wrong so I had to playback side by side back to back.
