P1457 Evap Emissions Code and How to Address Any Evap Check Engine Light

In this episode, I talk about a vehicle's Evaporative Emissions System and how to approach a code that relates to it. Evap systems are interesting as they most often present as a leak. The leak can be a tiny little pinhole due to rust in a line or it could be a vent or purge valve stuck open or even a loose gas cap. I got lucky with this one in that there was a crack in the gas cap sealing ring, but the purge valve is also overly noisy which could be an issue as well. With the P1457 being a really broad code and not narrowing down an issue, it could be interesting to see what happens when the cap is replaced. Jump points are as follows:
