C2H5OH + H2O (Ethanol + Water)
Описание
In this video we will describe the equation C2H5OH + H2O and write what happens when C2H5OH is mixed with water.
When C2H5OH is mixed with H2O (water) there isn’t a chemical reaction (no new substances are formed). Instead, because both C2H5OH and H2O are polar molecules, the Ethanol and water are able to mix together. To show that the Ethanol has mixed with water water we can write (aq) after it. The (aq) shows that it is aqueous.
The equation for C2H5OH and H2O sometimes isn’t considered a chemical reaction since they can be separated by simple means (distillation).
