Poor customer service experience | Peugeot 207 SW Power Steering failure | Look after your client

We suffered a catastrophic failure on our Peugeot 207SW during a trip in France. The power steering unit completely failed making steering impossible. Luckily the failure happened in a car park and not on a fast road (or the consequences could have been fatal). It is rumoured that our model of car, manufactured in 2011 (as ours was) left the Peugeot factory with this fault.

Research on the internet uncovered other drivers having this same problem and Peugeot fixing the vehicle at no cost (even though it was out of warranty). Peugeot Spain and France seem to have a different view.

We asked Peugeot to answer two simple questions:

1. Can Peugeot confirm that my vehicle left the factory without any know problem to it’s Power Steering (specifically part number 1611965780).
2. Has the vehicle with VIN VF3Wxxxxxxxxxxxxx ever been subject to a recall or the subject of a Service Bulletin (specifically with regards to Power Steering)?
