It's finally time for the Tecsun S-8800 on long-term loan to be returned

Hi there, after just over a year, the very kind subscriber who lent me his Tecsun S-8800 receiver (German version) has decided it was time for it to be returned. No doubt an excellent receiver on HF, less so on MW/LW, but superb audio and a very robust front end that will accept a large antenna with no problem. Pricing is the real problem with this radio - there are others out there - the PL-880, Eton Satellit and even the HXDATA D-808 that will outperform the S-8800 in a sensitivity shoot-out, if not audio fidelity. If this radio was 150 quid, it's no-brainer. At 300 quid, well that would buy you almost all three of the other portables I've just mentioned. Nevertheless, I've had a great time testing and using the S-8800 and my sincere thanks for the loan of it. Thanks for watching
