The Russian Revolution of 1917 had the tsarist autocracy dismantled and led to the creation of the Soviet Russia, later Soviet Union led by Vladimir Lenin. Tsar Nicholas II was forced to abdicate and the old regime was replaced by a provisional government during the first revolution of February 1917. During the October Revolution, the provisional government of Alexander Kerensky was removed and replaced by a Bolshevik government.

In this video you can learn about the main causes of the revolution, the main parties in Russia at the beginning of the XX century (the kadets, the octobrist party, the socialist revolutionary party, the mensheviks and bolsheviks ), and how the First World War influenced the revolution. Also you can find details about the main actors of the revolution: Tsar Nicholas II, empress Alexandra Feodorovna, the mad monk Grigori Rasputin, prime minister Evghenievici Georgy Lvov, prime minister Alexander Kerensky, bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin, president of the Petrograd soviet Leon Trotsky, and many others.
