Stephen Strange is a brilliant neurosurgeon used to relying on the precision of his hands, a cold intellect, and his own superiority, until a terrible car accident robs him of the ability to operate. Having lost his profession, status, and sense of purpose, he spends his last resources on treatment and, in desperation, travels to Kathmandu, where he hears of a mysterious place called Kamar-Taj. There, Strange meets the Ancient One and discovers a world of magic, dimensions, and forces that cannot be explained by familiar science. At first, he seeks only a way to reclaim his former life, but his training quickly becomes a path of inner transformation: he must abandon his arrogance, accept responsibility, and stand in defense of reality against Kaecilius and the dark power of Dormammu, which threatens the entire world.
