This archival film and audio narrative tells the story of the Bristol Beaufighter in Coastal Command during World War II. Veteran Royal Air Force pilots and navigators relate their experiences of the strike aircraft, what it was expected to achieve and how it performed combatting Nazi Germany across the North Sea, North Atlantic and Bay of Biscay.
Footage includes upscaled, original combat film capturing strikes against convoys off the coasts of Norway and Denmark. And extracts are taken from era sources, including the RAF "Use of Rockets" training film and the propaganda "Ship Busters" movie dramatisation which follows a day-in-the-life of Australian and New Zealand Coastal Command crews.
