So, yes, after all this time, we know the truth. Yes, there was an ALTERNATE version of Talk To Me given to Time/Life for a compilation album. That album turned out to be the 1998 release entitled: "Sounds Of The Eighties: 1986."

This is hq audio straight from the CD. This is a rarity and for all you collectors out there, get a copy from Amazon. They are selling for cheap right now!

I wonder why this was done. Did Stevie intentionally give them an early version? I checked the liner notes and there is no indication that it is actually not the album version, though I suppose they simply didn't think it worthy to mention. Maybe there was another "Mirror, Mirror" incident and an early version was released instead. Regardless, this is the official audio of the alternate release of Talk To Me, not available on any release before or since. Enjoy.
