ASV Radio Telescope

Enthusiastic members of the Astronomy Society of Victoria have spent some years building a radio telescope at the Leon Mow Radio Observatory north of Melbourne Australia. The 8.5 metre dish, although small, provides the opportunity for studying large scale structure of the universe at the hydrogen emission line at 21 cm. This is a short video showing the telescope and some preliminary results of a test map of the Large Magellanic cloud. It was the Radio Astronomy section of the ASV that organised the visit to the Parkes Radio Telescope.
