This tutorial explains how to add custom textures to your "Source SDK" "Hammer Editor"

Download "Paint.net", find a good texture, open it in "Paint.net" resize it to the power of 2, save and then open in VTFEdit, save as .vtf in the folder "Steam\steamapps\Your User Name\The Game you mapping for\Shortcut name of the game\materials\Custom"
You need to make a new folder called "Custom"
Open up Source SDK, Hammer Editor, click Browse for textures in the right and type in the name of your folder that you saved it in.
For people who download your .bsp with custom materials won't have them. Follow the steps down below to find out how to add your custom textures to your .bsp
Step 1: You need to download "Pakrat" https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Pakrat
Step 2: Open "pakrat.jar"
Step 3: Open your .bsp file in it, then you click "Add" on the bottom.
Find your custom materials and save the .bsp by clicking "File" and then "Save BSP"
