Lomo Foton A 37-140mm T4.4 2x ANAMORPHIC ZOOM Lens Test with Red Epic Dragon

We test the Foton A 37-140mm with no anamorphic square front.
Is a very interesting zoom lens but I would not used it for commercial work.

On the wider end of the zoom at 37mm the lens vignettes a lot on the Red Epic 6K sensor, after 50mm range the lens is usable on the Epic Dragon.

Bokeh is very unique and well used you can achieve great results on the artistic style.

I will recommend this lens to be use on a dream like scene on any short film, or very carefully on a vintage looking scene.

I wouldl not use this lens for projects that required high end aesthetics and modern look, unless has a very spedific demand from the Director.

The lens is a T4.4 which makes it a slow lens, but you could compesete the lack of light with a higher ISO, but at the risk of incrementing digital noise.

Overall is a fun lens, but alway keep in mind what kind of project you are shooting, that way you will make sure to deliver a great look.
