"Ramster 2018-2020" does not mean that I spent two years working on this. I don't remember precisely when was the first time when I had the idea to remaster this video. It could even be in 2016 or 2017. All I know is that I created the project file on 7th December 2018 and then worked on it very casually considering that it was not a priority. But in June 2020, as I finally got some more "focus time" than in the 10 previous months, and also got some delay working on the remaining Antwerpen Tango Festival 2019 videos, and as this one had remained a work in progress for so long, I decided that I wanted to finalise this one.
The main issue I wanted to address was the light level going up and down, this could not be completely suppressed but could be attenuated in this remaster. I also found that the colours in original version felt a bit bland. It wasn't super easy to get more vivid colours without getting a yellowish taint or something else going wrong somewhere you don't expect but this remaster should have slightly more vivid colours. I've completely re-done the virtual re-framing as I'm now able to do it smoother than I did years before. I removed approximately 35 seconds of talking at the beginning of the videos. I reworked the sound, made the live sound a little louder, especially applause, but made the master volume a bit quieter to avoid saturation.
This not a miracle remaster as you can see for some movies and some very old footages, and I don't think that this remake is perfect, but overall I think it is better than original version.
