Winnebago Micro Minnie 3 Years of Upkeep and Repairs

Sharon and MiLena, the Two Tired Teachers have had their Micro Minnie for three years now. Of those three years, if you combine all the trips we've taken in the travel trailer, we probably spent a year or so in it. We don't RV full time, but we do travel quite a bit.

In this video, we will talk about the minor repairs and upkeep we've done to the Winnebago. If you've watched any of our repair videos, you know that Sharon has done them all. MiLena sometimes watches the repairs, and often listens about the repairs.

The first thing we want to mention is outside. It is the cover that goes over the propane tanks. We haven't lost a cover, but we have lost several. After replacing that 2 or 3 times, Sharon finally took some bungee cords to secure the tank cover, and it has worked.

Sharon has also replaced the propane regulator and the hoses on the tanks. Another thing she replaced is the gaskets on the bay doors. That has made a lot of difference in how dry the passthrough storage stays. The seal is tight now, and bonus: It is an easy fix.

The blade on the gray water was not always fully closing. There may be a proper way to repair it, but Sharon knows of an easy fix. She put a blade at the dump opening where you connect the sewer hose. It has worked like a charm.

The man who owned the Micro Minnie before we got it had put some reflective tape on the back of it. When we camped on the beach at Padre, we needed more of that tape because the only lights after dark are car headlights, the moon, and the stars. In our dark travel trailer, we wanted people to be able to see where we were. It's also really nice to have since we're doing more dispersed camping.

We've replaced the tires twice. We now have Goodyear Endurance tires, and they seem to be holding up very nicely. Sharon has replaced the low point drain plug. She replaced the part that was on there with an identical one. That concludes the outside. Now we are ready to look at the inside.

The inside of our door had little weather or stress cracks. While it was still waterproof, we wanted it repaired. Sharon reskinned the door with strips of vinyl. We will have a video about that sometime in the future.

We have a video about the renovations we made to the Micro Minnie before our first trip. See the link above for that video.

We had to recaulk the sink because it had come loose. We also replaced the microwave because our solar didn't like the microwave that was in the trailer. The inverter and the old microwave were not compatible.

Sharon has also replaced the water pump. We had to reset the slide. It wasn't hard, but it was something we'd never done before. We recently put in a low flow shower head, just because.
Sharon put an easy access to the water heater.

Our one complaint is the dark blue has really faded. Winnebago no longer makes the blue Micro Minnie.
