The Bloemenmarkt is a floating flower market, it has a diverse range of flowers, cacti, home and garden plants, bulbs, seeds, plant pots, plant foods, and garden tools. A wonderfully colorful place to wander with a wide range of unusual and interesting plants. The market runs along the Singel between Koningsplein and Muntplein.

The market stalls are located on boats that float in the oldest canals of Amsterdam. This is a relic from the time when the flowers and plants sold in this market were shipped by barges from the horticultural areas around the city. In recent decades, the flower market has become more and more a famous tourist attraction in Amsterdam.

The different types of flowers vary by season. The locals come here in the spring for the tulips, in the summer for roses and in December for Christmas trees.
