Primal Rage Gameplay (PC - CD Version)

I noticed there didn't seem to be many (if any) gameplay videos of the PC version of Primal Rage.

My thoughts on this version:

Though I can't be completely sure, I think this is a port of the 3DO version, it looks very similar to it, both were launched roughly in the same time period, both lack the CGI intro found in the PS1 and Saturn versions and finally, the 3DO and the PC shared many games and ports between them.

The controls are uncomfortable to say the least, the 'right' player controls the character using the the keypad on the right and the attack buttons are the 'Home', 'End', 'Page up' and 'Page down' buttons.

The 'left' player has an even weirder control scheme so I chose to skip it.

Pulling off special moves in this version can range from hard to impossible, a lot of the tricks require you to press four or more buttons at the same time, but Windows can't register more then three buttons pressed on the keyboard, so a controller is obligatory.

Finally, I think the manual of this game must've been based off of a console version (probably the 3DO version) as it assumes the player is holding a controller instead of a keyboard.

EDIT: Even after plugging in a controller and setting it up using Xpadder much of the same controller problems persist, Windows doesn't allow you to press three buttons at once so the special moves are pretty much impossible to pull off unless you're playing on its original hardware

"This version is not like the 3do one at all. In fact, the pc version is the most accurate to the arcade of all the primal rage ports out there.

Is the port of the 2.3 version, with all the newer moves/balance/and fatalities. The control (when it worked) worked just fine. I say this in my experience, when I could actually play it in my old computer.

Unfortunately, it seems imposible to play it in the way its mean to, mostly because DOSBOX doesn't support a 4 button gamepad, at least the versions I tried the game with, and the win95 version is incompatible with newer windows.

When the game is played with gamepad, AND with the cd music, believe me, is was a great experience. Is a shame that no oher port of this game was this good. Even the version of Midway Arcade treasures presents problems, like the change in the moveset, the censorship of the blood, and the load times. "
