In this video, I’ll answer the question - how are crocodiles and alligators different? Crocodiles and alligators are often mistaken for each other, which is completely understandable, given how nearly indistinguishable they are. Both are green, look like giant lizards, and are absolutely terrifying, with their sharp teeth and claws, as well as their furious snarls.

However, crocodiles and alligators are very much different.

For one thing, crocodiles live mainly in freshwater and saltwater bodies – the Tarcoles River in Costa Rica is notorious for having the highest populations of these fierce animals in the world, with approximately 25 crocodiles per square kilometer or about 16 square miles. The Nile River in Africa is also teeming with them; in fact, the Nile Crocodile is the continent’s largest and most widely distributed crocodile.
