Raspberry Pi DIY CNC project - update - bCNC

I've made my FTD - Final Technical Decision.
And yes, absolutely, it would be cheaper to buy one like this : https://amzn.to/2QQxV00 SainSmart Genmitsu CNC 3018-PRO - but I'm here to make stuff, break stuff, and do things the hard way.

I am going to stick with the Raspberry Pi (Rather than Arduino) - and use bCNC to control the motors.
** (This may/will mean I buy a Protoneer HAT rather than use Pi+Arduino once I've tested it all using the development set up of 2 x L298 + Adafruit HAT).

I've bought a nice IP65 box to stuff it all in and will shortly be connecting it all up in accordance with my Fritzing diagram that I skilfully made.

*Note I have also purchased a "chopping board" to use as the CNC bed - not to be confused with "breadboard".

The final component on order is a 3d printer plate to attach to the sliders which the "Chopping board" (Bed) will attach to.

I've trialled bCNC on Ubuntu VM and so far so good - I may be in a dark room either tinkering or staring at the floor for a while so enjoy this video and feel free to post any comments, questions, criticisms, rants, or any other bollix you want to get off your chest.
...And if you were in doubt, I can confirm that it is all bollix out there. If you think what you're doing might be pointless, join the club. Just do it anyway....
