The snag to snippets

Recently, we conducted a webinar about design reuse in Altium Designer. In that presentation, we discussed both the use of device sheets and snippets. Snippets can get interesting because we have the ability to copy both schematic and PCB primitives into the snippets panel. This allows users to reuse both the circuit and its corresponding layout in future projects.

However, the snag to snippets has to do with the concept of Unique Id's.

This video we created addresses the unique Id's. It is an overview of what they are and why they are so important in Altium's architecture. And more so, how the user can benefit from the use of unique Id's when it comes to duplicating schematic files in a project, importing designs from other tools, and establishing connectivity between schematic and PCB snippets.
