The Hitachi KH-WS1 WorldSpace Satellite portable radio still performs well on the FM, AM and Shortwave bands. The reception is decent and the audio quality is great for voice and music.

The radio responds well to a Tecsun AN-200 Passive Loop during the day time hours. The filter may be a bit wide, but the locals and semi local stations are heard very easily.

Overall, I would recommend this radio solely to a collector of different and unique receivers. The Satellite antenna may have a use for owners of SDR radios. I may look into it's possible use in that arena.
