This video is a quick demo on setting up your ps3 and a non Sony Vaio PC to use Remote Play. Guide has been updated as of 4/4/2014. Works on Win7, Win8 laptops/computers. :)

Demo setup: PS3 Slim, 3.41 firmware and Macbook Pro13 w/Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Edition

You should be able to connect outside of your network too via PSN ID; you may need to change a few router settings to get fully working. YMMV. Enjoy.
