Scripting a vMix KeyPad to Select a Player by Jersey Number

Controlling graphics during a live sports event can be challenging. While it is possible to set up controllers with individual buttons for the players on both teams, the pregame setup can be time consuming, and finding the correct button to push in the heat of a competitive game can slow down the production workflow.

On today’s show, we’ll build a simple “KeyPad” interface using vMix Scripting that lets you select players by their Jersey Number to trigger a graphic display about them. The team roster data powering this is kept as an XML file, making pre-production easier as well.

We will also be staying Live after the show to answer any questions and talk with any callers.
