All Eurovision 2019 Songs Sorted by Their Key Signature

Hi everyone, welcome back to a new video. I thought I'd make something different to most of the Eurovision 2019 videos this time, and show you all the different key signatures of the songs this year.

A "key" is defined as "group of notes based on a particular note and comprising a scale, regarded as forming the tonal basis of a piece of music."

Most of the songs are obviously in 1 or 2 keys, but I had to kind of put a limit on some of the songs- the line between modulating to a different key and simply having a few chords outside of the key is quite blurred, so there are obvious times when the key is open for interpretation. It's also sometimes hard to tell if a song has modulated to the relative major/minor.

• Armenia- F minor until final chorus in F# minor
• Australia- verses in Eb minor, chorus & coda in Gb major
• Austria- verses in A minor, chorus & bridge in C major
• Croatia- F minor until final chorus in F# minor
• Iceland- E minor until final chorus in F minor
• Israel- Bb major until final chorus in Db major
• Malta- verses and drop in Bb minor, pre-chorus in Db major
• Moldova- C minor until final chorus in D minor
• Montenegro- D major until 2nd chorus in Eb major
• North Macedonia- 1st verse and chorus in F minor; interlude, 2nd verse and chorus in G minor
• Poland- verses in C# major, chorus in E major
• Sweden- B major until final chorus in C# major
• United Kingdom- C major until final chorus in Db major
13 songs this year have some kind of key change/modulation- that's almost a third!

The live versions of 5 songs this year also have different keys to the studio versions:
• Czech Republic- studio version in A minor
• France- studio version in F# minor
• Finland- studio version in B minor
• Hungary- studio version in D minor
• Sweden- studio version in C major until final chorus in D major

(Btw, Ukraine would have been in F# minor with the studio version in E minor).
