Quick installation guide for Redshift in Houdini 17.5 (any version should work), the process is quite similar for most 3rd party render plugins but make sure to read the official documentation as the environment variables will vary. This guide is for windows 10 installation of Houdini.

# Copy this into your Houdini.env file:
HOUDINI_DSO_ERROR = 2
PATH = "C:/ProgramData/Redshift/bin;$PATH"
HOUDINI_PATH = "C:/ProgramData/Redshift/Plugins/Houdini/{your plugin version};&"


note; any line with a '#' in front of it in the ENV file will essentially act as a comment for you and not actually important for executing houdini to read.
