Stochastic Halftones using the Photoshop Dissolve Blend Mode (of all the crazy ideas)

Here I use Photoshop's dissolve blend mode to make random patterns into stochastic halftones. The key is the fact that the density of the random pixels in the dissolve blend mode is based on layer opacity, and layer opacity can be controlled by grayscale layer masks, or black and white photographs or color separations.

This is not a very sophisticated means of producing stochastic halftones, but you may find it interesting, educational, and useful nonetheless.
