Thor, the mighty heir of Asgard, is used to seeing himself as a future king and great warrior, but his temper, pride, and hunger for glory nearly ignite a new war with the Frost Giants. As punishment, Odin strips his son of his power, takes away the hammer Mjolnir, and sends him to Earth, where the God of Thunder finds himself helpless among ordinary people for the first time. Meeting astrophysicist Jane Foster, her team, and an unfamiliar human world gradually changes Thor, forcing him to understand that true power requires not the strength of a blow, but responsibility, humility, and the willingness to protect others. Meanwhile in Asgard, Loki uncovers the secrets of his own origin and begins a dangerous game for the throne, turning his brother’s exile into part of a far more serious conflict.
