It's the time of the year that we are seeing again this Scilla siberica plant. Siberian squill is a perennial plant that blooms from March to May. Flowers are single, each flower is about 1inch across when fully open, it is flaring blue petals with a darker blue stripe down the centre and 6 white stamens with dark blue tips. Other cultivars of this species may have white, pink or blue-violet flowers. Leaves are basal & grass-like. Siberian squill is an invasive plant. It can easily spread itself even with a broken roots. It is hardy and cold tolerant. A beautiful spring flowers.
