Lilium regale, also known as Royal Lily, Regal Lily or King's Lily, is one of the most fragrant lilies I have in my fragrant garden in Kent, England, UK, with a very sweet scent. The beautiful flowers are about 14 cm long and wide, flushed pink-purple on the outer petals, while the inner part of the flower is white with a yellow centre. It is one of the most elegant plants for the garden as well, with its needle - like leaves and long flower stems up to 2 metres tall. It thrives in well drained soil and full sun but can take partial shade. Definitely a must for fragrant gardens in temperate climates.
