The Devil At The Crossroads: The life And Legacy of Robert Johnson

This story of a deal with the Devil at the crossroads mirrors the legend of Faust. In exchange for his soul, Johnson was able to create the blues for which he became famous.

However, there is no escaping the Devil's trickery as he always wins in the end. Johnson died the following year in Greenwood, Mississippi, supposedly poisoned by a jealous husband of one of his mistresses. In a cruel irony, the fame he so sought, in the end, was what killed him.

Why is blues the devil's music?
Not sure much the Blues but it's reinvention through early rock and roll Like Elvis and Chuck Barry etc . . . People referred to this as the Devil's Music because it was widely believed, at the time, that it caused teens of the day to indulge in sinful activities like premarital sex and drugs.
