M87*

M87* is the abbreviated classification for the black hole at the center of elliptical galaxy Messier 87: the first black hole to ever be photographed. The piece is an expressionistic take on descending the layers of a black hole; from the warping effects of the ergosphere, to the crushing totality of the singularity. It consists of live acoustics in conjunction with a pre-recorded electronic track that serves as a musical palindrome.
