With the VP700e (e=Europe specification model) it’s possible to print your own high quality full colour labels on a roll at a very low cost. The VP700e is a ‘bulk ink’ label roll printer taking 5 large 250ml tanks, one for each colour (c,y,m) and two black (k) that’s 1.25 Litres of ink! A popular size outer box label roll with labels pre-cut at 4 x 3 inch (102 x 76mm) can be printed in colour for fraction of a penny in ink, thus replacing the old black only printers now with amazing colour whilst also being capable to print labels any size or shape including shipping labels A6 , A5 or even A4 size!
Why use a low quality black ink label printer when you can now have 1600dpi full colour! Not only is the text quality improved like small print of the sort needed for ingredients and instructions but you can add full colour pictures of your products so to print complete product or packaging labels or just black and white barcode labels, the VP700e does them all and no ribbon waste!
The VP700e is most popular for rapid printing of labels for food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other fast moving consumer goods where the use of colour label can enhance the packaging and eliminate the cost and wastage of bought in labels. The VP700e can print labels with the new red diamond pictograms needed for GHS/CLP chemical labelling for example or add colour ‘traffic light’ nutrition information to food labels whilst also adding your customer logo for ‘own brand’ labelling.
Some unique features of the VP700e include a built in powered roll unwinder able to take up to 8 inch diameter rolls of low cost pre-cut plain ink compatible labels in sizes up to 8.5 inches (216mm) width. Because of the Memjet ‘waterfall’ fixed print head technology the print speed is selectable at 6 inches (150mm) per second standard or an amazing 12 inches / 1 foot (300mm) per second so it may be only minutes to print all the days requirement for labels! The windows driver has a unique one click to bleed tick box that makes it simple to bleed colour images right to the edge just like a full size printing press but as a simple to use desk top unit. The printer comes with a Windows driver for compatibility with most design software but the VP700e really comes to life when used with BarTender software that helps align your label images to the exact label sizes used with trim adjustments, whilst also optionally providing the possibility of expiry dates, batch numbers, serial numbering and linking the label designs to your product list or database for even greater label print automation.
