How to run Steam on Windows XP and Vista in 2022 (Credit to Shark Vader) (NO LONGER WORKS 10/26/23)

Hello everyone! Today, I will show you how to run an older version of Steam on Windows XP and Vista. Unfortunately, as it stands now, I couldn't get downloads to work, but in an upcoming video, I will show you how to transfer the games over from your Windows 7 or higher computer. Also, if I find an updated config.vdf file so games can be downloaded again, I will update this description with the link to that particular config.vdf file.

Just the other day, I was looking for Shark Vader's video on this, from March of 2021, and when I went through a comment on the Steam Nov 26 2018 package, from archive.org, the video said it was removed for violating YouTube's ToS. Now, I honestly don't know if that was a mistake or not, but that is the main reason why I did this video, in honor of Shark Vader's video on this. It worked so well for me, and lucky for me, I was still able to access the old Steam package that he had a link to (to his Google Drive), and the config.vdf file, so I uploaded both of them to my google drive, just in case he removes them.

The packageinfo.vdf file should be on your computer already, under the appcache folder in your Steam directory.
