Using Node.js with vMix to Access URL-Based JSON Data

Last season on Streaming Alchemy, we introduced using Node.js as a tool for scripting and automation. It has significant advantages over VB-based scripting and is something worth investing some time into learning.

On today’s show we will populate graphics for a card-based game competition from data found on the web. The character cards and battle rounds will be set in vMix using Dynamic Values. These will be used by a Node.js script running in the background to read web-based JSON data and populate a GT Title back in vMix.

We will also be staying Live after the show to answer any questions and talk with any callers.
