The winter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year. In the Northern Hemisphere, it takes place between December 20 and 23, depending on the year. (The reverse is true in the Southern Hemisphere, where the shortest day of the year occurs in June). Cultures around the world have long held feasts and celebrated holidays around the winter solstice. Fire and light are traditional symbols of celebrations held on the darkest day of the year.

To celebrate, you can light a candle or a Yule log, drum or dance along with us, or find yourself deeply reflecting in meditative moments.

Unfortunately due to the current times, we are unable to gather together for what would have been our semi-annual solstice drum circle celebration... BUT, it has also given us some new light, and a chance to reach out on an entirely new platform for friends and families from extreme distances. For which, we are incredibly grateful. We are honoured to invite you on our first ever virtual journey of enlightenment and celebrate this day through the magic of sound. Drumming, dancing, singing, shaking and general movement is strongly encouraged throughout this hour. Wishing you peace, love and happiness!
