Welcome to another emulation test video and happy Friday, everyone!
In the live chat of yesterday's video, a subscriber requested that I test and see how Disco Elysium runs when being emulated on Android. So that's what we'll be doing today.

As always, my initial setup here will be using the latest version of Yuzu for Android, which looks to be version 183 as of this recording.
I will also be doing this initial testing with the stock system driver only. No custom GPU drivers will be tested in an attempt to prevent this video from being longer than it needs to be. However, I will be happy to do further testing with this game and custom drivers in a future video.
This way you know what type of performance you're able to get out of the box without any additional tinkering.
I have four different phones that I'll be testing today, each with a different SoC. This way it will hopefully give us all an idea as to what type of device will be needed in order to emulate Disco Elysium on Android.
First off we have the Redmi K70 Pro here with the newly released Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Now we're going to test Disco Elysium on the mid-range chip inside this Redmi Note 13 Pro. So we'll have an idea as to how the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chip performs here.
Here we have the Google Pixel 8 with its Tensor G3 chip and this should give us an idea as to how this game will play on a standard Mali GPU.
Before we leave here today let's go ahead and test this game on last year's flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 inside of the Galaxy S23.
So today we saw this game running great on the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 and gen 2 chips. it was playable with the tensor g3 but i feel it needs a bit more work to actually be enjoyable. and if you are running a mid-range chip then I am not holding my breath on getting good performance with this game.
again, this could be a completely different story with a great custom gpu driver. . .or a phone that has been well optimized for yuzu
but as of right now, you'll need a flagship phone to emulate disco elysium. even if you have an older one laying around. it looks like this game can be emulated quite well.
as always, if you tested this game on your Android device then share your results down in the comments section below. details like which phone and chip you're using, which driver you have enabled, and what your performance numbers are will go a long way to helping the community know what this game can and cannot be played on.
