Half Life 2 Build 2187 (2004 Retail) Fully Playable

I found one of the oldest releases of HL2 there is but it wouldn't work on modern OSes because of old DRM issues as well as Steam not communicating with it BUT I eventually got it working with a ton of workarounds and now it runs perfectly fine on modern OSes.
Big thanks to µ. for sharing an ISO of his copy of a retail HL2 DVD.

Run start.bat to launch the game.
If you get a "not enough memory" error, just set hl2.exe to run as an admin under Windows XP/98 compatibility mode. Please report any bugs or issues and have fun!
