Our K36 class Mikado type, 2-8-2 steam locomotive No. 489 has lifted us high into the San Juan Mountains over the Cumbres Pass to Osier where we pass the Chama bound service and break for a tasty lunch. We look around the old station buildings and admire the beautiful surroundings before boarding our train to Antonito passing through the Toltec Gorge carved by the waters of the Rio de los Pinos, we traverse narrow ledges high above the valley floor, marvel at strange rock formations, finally crossing the sage covered wilderness to reach Antonito. Recorded 12th September 2017. Colorado, USA.
