The next released version 1.1 then version 2.0 and then jump to the release of Word 6.0 in 1993 Microsoft again attempted to synchronize the version numbers and coordinate other product naming across platforms; this time across the three versions for DOS, Macintosh, and Windows (where the previous version was Word for Windows 2.0).
