'Parsifal', Nur eine Waffe taugt, by Wagner - Lauritz Melchior

Recorded in 1938 by Danish-American opera singer Lauritz Melchior (1890-1973), the preeminent Wagnerian tenor of the 1920s, '30s and '40s.

At the end of Act III, as the climax of Richard Wagner's opera 'Parsifal', Parsifal enters, announcing that only one weapon can heal Amfortas' wound ('Nur eine Waffe taugt'). He touches Amfortas' side with the holy Spear and both heals and absolves him. Parsifal then commands the unveiling of the Grail, and accepts the homage of the knights as their redeemer and king, and blesses them.
