Street Fighter II V based on the fighting game Street Fighter II. Directed by Gisaburo Sugii. The series centres around the adventures of Ryu and Ken, two teenage martial artists who embark on a journey to improve their skills.

The series begins with Ryu, living in rural Japan, receives an unexpected letter from his old friend and sparring-partner Ken Masters. He invites Ryu to visit him in the United States, as they have not seen each other for many years. Ryu thinks about the request and after being persuaded decides to visit his best friend. They meet at San Francisco airport, where a big limousine is waiting to drive them home to Ken's place. Ryu is impressed by the riches of Ken's family. After relaxing, the 17-year-old boys go out for the night on Ken's motorcycle and bribe their way into a pub called Mt. Fuji. Ken angers some soldiers by flirting with one of their girls and a fight ensues. After the military men are defeated, their Sergeant, Guile, appears.
