Track Tech - GoPro Stabilsation & Rolling Shutter Effect Reduction with ProDAD ProAdrenalin

Still a bit quite on track this time of year but busy as always keeping up to date with news and technical innovations. having started using the excellent GoPro HERO Black last year one downside is the rolling shutter which gives a "jello" or "wobbly" effect on the video. 2 other issues are that, when used in WIDE mode you get barrel distortion and like any camera mounted solidly to a racecar you are going to get some vibration.

There are various individual solutions to each of these problems but ProAdrenalin from ProDAD helps combat ALL of these problems. I've only just started using it and have been very impress so I thought i'd give it one of the hardest tests I could think of.

The video needed to WIDE angle (to have the barrel distortion) and have lots of vibration and jello effect. What better than a 200kph Superkart on the bumpy Cadwell Park circuit in the UK.

The ProDAD software allows you to compare your original footage side-by-side so you can really see the effect. To really see the effect I cropped a 720p to focus on the main movement of the karts racing, so the quality is quite poor but you can REALLY see the effect.

The video included Barrel Distortion Reduction, Stabilsation and some minor smoothing.
