More and More Manufacturers are being asked to produce "BIM Ready" Models.

In most CAD systems, this can be quite a difficult task, but in Autodesk Inventor using the BIM exchange utility, it is a really easy task, the video below details the process of passing a file from Inventor to Revit.

A point to ponder, is that Inventor is not only a fantastic Parametric 3D modeller, but also a very powerful file translator, so if you need to create BIM content from other CAD packages like Pro-Engineer, Solidworks, Catia etc, you could import the file into Inventor and then follow the steps in the video below.
