The Battle of Stalingrad is an event
unprecedented in the density of sniper fire.

Stalingrad, November 1942. Soviet troops had been
defending a hardware factory in the city. The Germans,
knowing the importance of the facility, had begun to
move their forces into area and prepare to advance
on the Russian positions. To defend the factory,
the help of snipers was required. Six Soviet soldiers
volunteered for the role and took up positions to repel
the German forces. As soon as the Germans rose up from their
defences and advanced on the building, the snipers
opened fire. After a few minutes, the enemy lost
more than two dozen men. Due to these losses they
abandoned the assault which they had long prepared for.
